I have been in private law practice at 7 Harvard Street in Brookline Village since 1991. Originally, I came to Brookline in 1972 to be the Director and Counsel for the Brookline Rent Control Board. At the time, I was employed as a legal aid attorney for Neighborhood Legal Services in Lynn. My wife Alberta and I moved to Brookline in 1973 and our son Andrew was born on December 7 of the same year. After 16 years, I resigned my position with the town when my wife received her Ph.D. I went to work as an attorney with Israel & Goldenberg in Boston, at the same time attending Boston University Law School to get my LL.M. in tax law.
Since 1991, I have concentrated my practice in the areas of real estate law, zoning and municipal law, landlord/tenant law and the representation of small business owners.
Over the years, I have served as President of the Brookline Rotary Club, Trustee of Rotary District 7910, District Parliamentarian, President of Temple Israel Brotherhood, served on the Town Advisory Committee for 8 years, and served as an elected Town Meeting Member from Precinct 14.
Currently, I am President of the Brookline Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Board of Directors of the Brookline Improvement Association, a non-profit affordable housing corporation providing low income housing, and a founding member and volunteer attorney with the Brookline Legal Assistance Bureau, providing free legal advice to senior citizens at the Brookline Senior Center.
