Under the tutelage of my father, a master carpenter and cabinet maker, I learned the trades growing up in New York City. At CCNY I earned a Civil Engineering degree, followed by an M.S. from MIT.
After a career in computer programming, and one too many layoffs, my yearning to work with my hands led to the creation of Lasky HomeSmith Services in 2001. I have returned to my roots. No longer an avocation, this work is now my full-time career, and I am loving it.
My business is designed around small jobs - one to three days - jobs too small for most contractors. The services I provide require a high level of skill and attention to detail. I work primarily in three areas: windows and doors, finish carpentry, and small repairs.
My Sprinter van is a mobile woodworking shop. I built it out for easy access to my tools, and to have readily available the hundreds of fastener types, glues, and epoxies which I use. I am constantly working on fine tuning it.
I am a 27-year resident of Brookline and live in the Village with my wife and two sons.
