Lisa Canale Trachtman, a Brookline resident, has been crafting since childhood. Her interests range from weaving to woodworking. As a child, you would often find Lisa in her father’s workshop creating floral arrangements, building and decorating flower boxes, and designing and constructing desktop clocks.
Lisa grew up in a Boston neighborhood where local business owners were both neighbors and friends. She fondly remembers the corner store shop owner inviting her friends to use his parking lot to play kickball. He would cheer them on and bring out refreshments. Now, as a parent, Lisa wants to give back to her community in a similar way.
Lisa’s passion for creativity and community led her to leave her executive management position at a global technology organization to open Abeille in November 2008.
Abeille offers a unique retail experience enabling its customers to explore their creativity. It is a great source for jewelry-making supplies, beads, paper crafts, sewing, gifts and accessories. Abeille specializes in hand-crafted goods designed by local artists. Abeille also offers classes in jewelry making, paper crafts and sewing, and hosts parties, free events, monthly meet-up groups, free demonstrations, and trunk shows.
