In the summer of 2003, I moved to Boston with my family from a suburb of NYC. For more than 15 years I had worked as a marketing professional in the financial services industry, working for both large companies like American Express and a small financial publisher. Moving gave me the chance to finally pursue my dream of starting my own business.
TeenLife Boston was inspired by my own experience of needing information and not finding it. As new parents, we missed having a “network” of other parents to consult with. It soon became clear that other parents of teens felt the same way. In January 2006, I decided to do something about it and published the first Guide to Summer Programs in Boston. In May 2007, I focused on TeenLife Boston full-time. We added another print guide and held a Community Service Fair at the Atrium Mall.
Our new website allows us to offer many other types of listings of programs and businesses that serve teens and their families. We also help local students to get jobs and internships, an area which is expected to grow in the years ahead.
