David Leschinsky is both a shop owner and resident of Brookline, Massachusetts. He has been passionate about games and puzzles since he was a boy and always wanted to do something with them, but just wasn’t sure what until one day…
David entered the workforce in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in physics and a Masters in Business. He spent the next 25 years developing technology initiatives to enhance problem conceptualization and decision making in business, government, and education. David traveled extensively but always found time to bring back exciting mechanical puzzles and games for family, friends and colleagues.
David met his wife, Deborah, at work and was married in 1989. Deborah brought style and grace to this partnership along with considerable design acumen and a great sense of adventure. Shortly after the birth of their third child David walked into a puzzle store and was ignited with a vision of a store devoted to thinking and fun for all ages. After extensive research, a business plan, and many discussions, David launched Eureka! inside the Cinemasmith on Harvard Street in October of 2004. Deborah was very supportive, designing a logo and identifying style for the store.
In March of the following year, Eureka moved to the walkway between Bowl and Board and Party Favors, and then moved again to its current location on Beacon Street in January of 2007.
David is still passionate about thinking and seeing things in a new light, and enjoys helping others have a Eureka! moment everyday.
