When I was teaching martial arts many years ago a good friend came to tell me about how I could improve my flexibility and body awareness and rid myself of some nagging injuries using the Feldenkrais Method. I decided to find out more.
I met Dr. Feldenkrais in 1978 in Washington D.C. and signed up for his next training. I graduated from the Amherst training in 1983 and started my practice.
I teach people how to improve the way they use their body by changing their habitual patterns of action.
This is done with gentle movements to clarify what they do and replacing it with something different.
I work with musicians, golfers, doctors, nurses, people hurt in car accidents and people whose pain came with no explanation.
The movements bring awareness and awareness brings change.
I have a Masters degree from Northeastern University. I was a social worker for the State of MA and a nursing home administrator before taking the Feldenkrais training. I’ve worked and taught the Feldenkrais Method in hospitals, wellness centers, and Feldenkrais trainings, and have given many workshops.
