Gina Medaglia unknowingly began her culinary career as young adult while attending college to gain a degree and career in the field of occupational therapy. She found herself working as a server in different restaurants in the area.
As she pursued her career, she continued to work in the food service industry, soon coming to the realization that food service was her true passion. She decided to focus on that full-time.
Gina was able to gain extensive food and wine knowledge as well as managerial skill when she accepted a management position working for a small, independently owned restaurant in the North End.
As she continued to learn all facets of the business, she began to dream of owning her own small restaurant.
After some time of searching for a perfect location and the type of cuisine that Gina wanted to represent, Dalias Bistro and Wine Bar was opened in August of 2002. Gina choose Brookline's Washington Square because she loved the feel of the neighborhood and most of all the space that Dalias occupies.
The menu was created using many of Gina's favorite styles of food. It's American cuisine with Mediterranean influences. On Dalias menu you can find different types of homemade pasta dishes, fresh fish and choice meats. The wine list consists of 35 or more different wines by the glass. All the wines have been chosen for the quality as well as the value.
Since opening in August of 2002, Dalias has been recognized for being "tasteful and charming" and "a hidden treasure".
